Who we are

Futurist AI Partners is a Wales-based consultancy focused entirely on applied artificial intelligence. We started because too many businesses were buying AI tools they didn't need, or hiring data scientists without a clear project brief. Our approach is different: we begin with the business question, then figure out which model, dataset, and infrastructure will answer it.

Our team includes machine learning engineers, data architects, and domain specialists with backgrounds in logistics, healthcare, retail, and financial services. That mix matters. A recommendation engine for an e-commerce site has nothing in common with a defect-detection camera on a factory floor, except that both rely on clean data and honest evaluation metrics.

We work from our office in Darehampton, Wales, but serve clients across the UK and remotely throughout Europe. Most engagements last between eight and twenty weeks, depending on data readiness and integration complexity.

What we do

Six core service areas, each with a clear deliverable and timeline.

Predictive analytics

We build regression and classification models that forecast demand, churn, pricing shifts, and equipment failure. You get a model, a monitoring dashboard, and a retraining schedule so accuracy stays high over time.

Computer vision

Object detection, image classification, and video analytics for quality control, security, and inventory counting. We handle camera selection, annotation, model training, and edge deployment on devices like Jetson or Coral boards.

Natural language processing

Sentiment analysis, document classification, entity extraction, and chatbot development. We fine-tune large language models on your domain-specific corpus so the system speaks your industry vocabulary, not generic boilerplate.

Data engineering and pipelines

Before any model can train, data needs to flow cleanly. We design ETL pipelines, data lakes, and feature stores on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Our pipelines include automated quality checks and alerting when source schemas change unexpectedly.

AI strategy consulting

Not sure where AI fits in your operations? We run a two-week discovery sprint: interview stakeholders, audit existing data assets, and deliver a prioritised roadmap with cost estimates and expected ROI for each initiative.

MLOps and model monitoring

Deploying a model is only the halfway point. We set up CI/CD for machine learning, automated drift detection, A/B testing frameworks, and rollback procedures. When prediction quality drops, you know within hours, not months.

How we work

Discovery

We spend the first week understanding your business goals, existing data sources, and technical constraints. No code is written during this phase. The output is a scoping document with success criteria both sides agree on.

Data preparation

Raw data rarely arrives clean. We profile every table, flag missing values, resolve schema conflicts, and build a feature store. This stage typically takes two to four weeks and determines the ceiling for model performance.

Model development

We train candidate models, run cross-validation, and benchmark against baseline heuristics. You receive a comparison report showing precision, recall, latency, and cost for each approach before we pick a winner.

Deployment and handover

The chosen model ships into your infrastructure with monitoring dashboards, alerting, and documentation. We train your internal team on retraining procedures and remain on call for 90 days after launch.

Frequently asked questions

How much data do I need before AI is worthwhile?
It depends on the task. A simple classification model can work well with a few thousand labelled examples. Computer vision projects usually need at least 1,000 annotated images per class. During our discovery phase we audit what you have and tell you honestly whether the volume is sufficient or if we need to augment it first.
Can you work with our existing cloud provider?
Yes. We deploy on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. If you run on-premise servers, we can containerise models with Docker and Kubernetes. We adapt to your stack rather than forcing a migration.
What happens after the project ends?
Every engagement includes 90 days of post-launch support. After that, you can either maintain the system internally using the documentation and training we provide, or move to a monthly retainer for ongoing monitoring, retraining, and feature additions.
How do you handle sensitive or regulated data?
We sign NDAs and data processing agreements before any data transfer. For healthcare or financial projects we work inside your VPN, use encrypted storage, and follow GDPR requirements throughout. Models can be trained on anonymised or pseudonymised datasets when full data access is not possible.
What is a typical project budget?
A strategy sprint starts at £4,000. End-to-end model development projects range from £15,000 to £80,000 depending on data complexity, integration requirements, and whether custom labelling is needed. We provide a fixed-price quote after the discovery phase so there are no surprises.
